Hi there! Hey, has anyone told you lately that you are the number one most delightful human ever to exist in this world? Wow. You are so cool. You smell terrific and I love your shoes. May I have your autograph? Just make it out to Ansel- that's me!Hey... do you wanna be best friends? That would be, like, my dream come true. We could play with squeaky toys together or run around in the yard or just snuggle. I came to the shelter as a stray, so I don't know a lot of my background. I do know that
Give STL Day has come to an official end! Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise over $9,300 to help animals in need! Did you miss the deadline? You can still help! Please go to odas.org/donate to give at any time!
This Give STL Day, your donation saves the lives of animals like Beacon. It started with a phone call: a rural veterinary clinic called asking if we could take a dog who needed a wheelchair. They'd had one brought in after being found on the side of the road trying to drag himself out of the ditch. He was thin, wormy, and covered in ticks. One leg ended in an infected open wound and the other in a floppy partial paw. When he arrived, he was a happy guy, full of life and undaunted by his injuries. We named him Beacon
Do you ever wish you could look into a crystal ball and see what life would hold for you? My name is Crystal and... here's what I think I would see. You and me, together. Going to the park. Sleeping on the couch. A happy life for both of us. Me, free from fear and loneliness at last. You, blessed with the love of a devoted companion. I am kind of scared in the shelter. I'm hesitant when I meet someone new, but it doesn't take long to win me over with some treats and some love. Pretty soon, I'll be
The thing about dogs and humans is that sometimes, a dog and a human seem to share just one heart. My name is Soma and I'm looking for the human who will complete me. I'm the kind of dog who will come up and lay my head on your lap and make everything just a little bit better. The kind who will lean my whole body into yours just to be close to you. When I see a possible new friend (i.e. anyone at all), my adorable stubby little tail wags so hard that my whole butt wiggles. I came
Well! Hello there! I've seen a lot of people around these parts, but... none of them quite like you. You're incredible. My name is Matais, by the way. I'm about two years old and I need a new home. Thing is, I've been looking for someone special. That's why you caught my eye. Because I can't go to just ANY home. See, I have a condition called Feline Leukemia (FeLV). It's not as scary as it sounds- I'm a healthy boy who doesn't need any extra care or medication and I could stay that way my whole life. My FeLV is
Sometimes, I say to myself, "Angie, you just wait- you're going to have a great life!" And I still believe it. I mean, it hasn't quite been a meteoric rise so much as a gradual climb- things are a lot better than they used to be, for sure. But I still have big dreams! I just celebrated my third birthday on Wednesday. I spent it warm and safe, healthy and loved, and surrounded by friends... but not in a home. That's where I'm headed- I just know it! Will I get to live with other cats or dogs? I've been around both before,

Most of the time, "gray" is the opposite of "sunshiny," right? Well, not with me! My name is Asher and I light up a room! I'm about two years old, but it's just a guess because I was brought in as a stray. I came with another dog (I get along well with other dogs!) and his owner came for him, but they didn't know me! I guess maybe I made a friend while I was on the road. I can make friends anywhere, you know. I'm just a tiny bit unsure of new people right at first, but a
