Barry – Ready for Adoption!

My name is Barry and I’m a Goldilocks dog. No, I’m not referring to my fur, although it is nicely golden!
What I mean is that, at 34 lb, I’m not too big or too small. I’m just right! I’m nine years old, so neither too old to go for walks nor too young to know how to behave- I’m just right. Energy-wise, I’m neither a bump on a log who doesn’t do anything nor a wild man. I’m right in the middle: just right! And in terms of needs, I’m social, but independent. In fact, you might say I’m juuuuuust ri- okay, you get the picture.  I’m a sweet, quiet, fairly easygoing little guy. I haven’t had much exposure to cats, but I do fine with dogs.  When I came in, I was a flea-covered stray in a totally alien place, surrounded by complete strangers. My own golden locks were a mess- untreated fleas led to hair loss on my bottom and skin infections. That’s all cleared up now, but I’ve still got thin hair on my rear and it may or may not eventually grow back. I know I’ll love a human no matter how goofy their hair looks, so I’m hoping to find someone who will do the same for me!  I’ve got one more thing that’s “just right” about me: my adoption fee! Like any dog over 8 years old, I’m eligible for the Seniors-4-Seniors program, which means that if any human over 65 adopts me, the adoption fee is $1 and routine vet care for the rest of my life is covered at the shelter at no cost to the adopter.
