Mia – Ready for Adoption!
First impressions are important. Do I burst through the door and tackle you to the ground with kisses? Politely walk up to you and lay my head in your lap? Or hang back and keep my distance? A lot of the time, that first five seconds is the thing that makes the difference between “home, family, and a favorite toy of my own” and “back to the kennels to wait for another chance.” My name is Mia and I’m a second-impression dog. Second impression, third impression, and every impression after that… that’s where I shine! But first impressions? Those are a little tougher. See, when I first meet you, YOU know that you’re here to meet the new love of your life. But I don’t understand that. All I know is that there’s a room full of strangers all smiling and trying to touch me. Once I’ve had a few minutes to assess the situation. I go from shy to shining! I’m basically perfect. I’m cuddly, happy, polite, and I love to show off my “sit” and “shake” and “high five!” I’m the kind of dog who will lean in for cuddles or curl up next to you on the couch, pressed against your hip so I can be as close to you as possible. In fact, I think my name must be short for “Miel” because I’m as sweet as honey.
I haven’t had an official meet-and-greet with other dogs or cats yet, but I’m not generally worried about other dogs when I see them outside my kennel or on walks. If I had a serious applicant who had other animals, I would want to meet their dog here before going home with them and visit the cat area to see what I think of the office cats. So don’t let the first five seconds deprive you of a whole lifetime of getting to know the real me! I’m totally worth a second look. My name is Mia, I’m about a year old, and I’m spayed, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
