Sushi – Ready for Adoption!

Okay, get ready. You’ve gotta rehearse because, once you take me home, your life will be full of these encounters. When people say “Oh my gosh, what a cute dog!” you say, “Thank you! This is Sushi. He’s friendly and loves people!” And when they say, “What kind of dog is he?” you can say, “He’s a rescue!” or you can say, “He’s a little-legged big-eared mix of some sort!” or you can just say, “He’s an American.” Or I guess you can get my DNA done and tell them the results, which I suspect will be a list of breeds so long that they’ll quickly tune you out and start talking to me instead.
Anyway, what you need to know is, I’m not a dedicated introvert’s dog. If you want to blend in and be invisible when you’re in public with your pup, that’s not gonna be possible with me around. First of all, I love to make friends! I’m an EXCELLENT dog playmate and will wrestle all afternoon and put up with all kinds of dog shenanigans. And people? Let me tell you about people. People are the best and it’s my goal in life to get every single person in the state of Missouri to pet me at least once in their life. My cuteness and my size (only 35 lb at 10 months old… and did I mention the short little legs?) works to my advantage there, of course- it’s not too hard to find someone who wants to make friends!
I’m a whole lot of puppy fun- love to play, love attention, love other dogs, haven’t met cats and don’t know what I would think of them. I came in as a stray, so I can’t tell you a lot about my house manners on account of everybody I currently know has only known me during the “kennel” chapter of my life. I’ll probably need some training, of course, because… what puppy doesn’t? But I’ve got a good heart and I’m eager to please.
So if you want to be friends, both with me and with everyone we ever meet, come check me out! My name is Sushi, I’m ten months old, and I’m neutered, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
