Marsh – Ready for Adoption!
My name is Marsh, I’m six months old, and I’ve heard I’m a “special boy” and I’ve often wondered what it is about me that makes people say that.
Is it that I’m the softest little dreamsicle cloud you’ve ever had the pleasure of touching? Or that I’m totally fearless, super-outgoing, incredibly charming, and love to play? I mean, I live with a gigantic dog in my foster home and think he’s the best thing since Neil Diamond. I’m great with other cats and kids. I’m an expert at turning strangers into friends. I charmed the vet clinic staff so successfully that they featured me in their holiday staff photo. Surely, that must be what they’re talking about when they say I’m “special!” Wait. Hang on. That can’t be right. I’ve just been told that, while all that stuff is absolutely true and does, indeed make me special, the thing they’re referring to is… what? My POOP?! Come on, guys! Okay, okay… let’s get this out of the way. Nobody wants to be known for their poop in any capacity, but this is important for potential adopters to know: when I was rescued, I was in rough shape: sickly and LOADED with fleas and parasites. That, combined with the heavy-duty meds needed to get rid of all my little unwanted passengers and friends, left me with an out-of-whack gut biome. The result? Trouble in poop city. I’ve had two fecal transplants (yes, that’s a thing!) and it’s helped a TON. I’m in good shape now, but I have to stay strictly on a prescription probiotic diet (Hills Biome) in order to keep it that way. Managing that in a multi-cat home might need a little creativity (my food is fine for other cats to eat, but it’s more expensive than grocery store brands), but we can hook you up with a cool space-age microchip-scanning food bowl that can help you out with that. I’m nothing if not accommodating. Okay… as anyone who works with the public knows, having a stranger talk at you about their bowel movements when you very much did not ask is… awkward. Not usually the best way to start a beautiful lifelong friendship. I’d rather spend my time thinking about toys! I love to play and would REALLY love a dog or cat playmate. I really want to be best friends with my feline foster siblings, but they’re seniors and don’t appreciate my energy. I also love to be held and snuggled, especially when I’m calm and sleepy. Overall, I really am something special! Because I’m in a foster home, I’m available to meet by appointment only. To start, please fill out an application at
odas.org/feline and we’ll go from there! My name is Marsh, I’m six months old, and I’m neutered, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
