Mona – Ready for Adoption!

Life can take some funny twists and turns, can’t it? Last month, when I found myself lost and alone in the world, I had no idea it would turn out to be the best thing that had ever happened to me. Because someone kind picked me up and brought me here. That’s where I got my name: Mona.
I don’t have an exact record of my life before, but you can see parts of it written on my body. You can see that I’ve fed puppies. You can see that somebody cut my ears off (and from the looks of it, they did it blindfolded with children’s safety scissors while riding in a boat during a storm) and, when I came in, I was missing the hair around my eyes.
I don’t know why they took my ears. If it was to make me look mean, then… welp, they failed! Suckaaaaas! Because I’m the sweetest thing ever. I’m an itty bitty pittie (only 42 lb) with a happy little wiggly tail and sometimes, my lips get stuck in my teeth and I give you the cutest crooked smile. I’m not the kind of dog you’d see someone walking and think, “Wow, he must be real tough. What a bada*s” so much as the kind who makes the pitch of your voice get reflexively higher the closer you get to me and inspires the irresistible urge to say, “HI BAYBEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!”
I’ve only been here a short time and have spent most of that recovering physically, so I haven’t had official playdates with the other animals just yet. I’ve encountered cats through windows and been curious and friendly. And when I’ve gone on walks with other dogs and seen them through fences, I’ve seemed interested in making friends. I would love to meet any potential new dog siblings to see if we’re a match!
So maybe getting lost was a blessing in disguise because that’s how I got to a place where you get to meet me! And getting to go home with you would really be the dream.
