Claire – Ready for Adoption!

I know you’d love to know how I get this look. People are always all, “Claire, what’s your hair routine? How do you get that volume? Those crimped ears are everything!” Or “Oh Claire, won’t you please do a makeup tutorial? I need to know how to do my eyes like that!”  Well, here’s the secret: I woke up like this. Yep, I’m just naturally fabulous. Try not to be too jealous.  I might not have to put any work into being gorgeous, but that doesn’t mean everything’s always been easy for me. Picture this: You’re only ten pounds and just two years old. Alone in the world. About to give birth. And it’s just days away from the Fourth of July, AKA Dog Apocalypse. That’s the situation I found myself in a few months ago, just before I came to the shelter. Since then, I’ve come a long way… and now, I’m ready to finally find a home!  In terms of genetics, I’m not fully chihuahua. But in my heart… yeah. If you’re a chihuahua person, you’ll like me. I’m smarter than you’d think. I’m a little wary of strangers and will bark at you and back away if I don’t know you. Once we’ve become friends (it doesn’t take long, but it will take some time and patience), I’m very affectionate and I love being held. I’m good with other dogs and, once I’m comfortable, I LOVE to play and run around. My friends here would like to see me go somewhere with access to a fenced yard where I can let loose and do my zoomies.
So if “effortlessly amazing, but willing to put in the effort” is your style, we may be a perfect match.  My name is Claire, I’m two years old and ten pounds, and I’m spayed, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
