Bellatrix – Ready for Adoption!

My name is Bellatrix and I’m trying to reach one million people. I need your help to make that happen!  Why, you might ask? Because they tell me the person who adopts me will be one in a million. The way I see it, that means there’s still a chance! And I intend to take it.  The thing is, I’ve been here longer than almost any other cat in the adoptable adult section. Eight months is a long time, especially for a cat! At three years old, I’m still young, but eight months is a good chunk of my life. I’ve been passed over, disregarded, and rejected because of one simple attribute: I’m shy.  No, I’m not feral. Just shy. As you might be able to guess from my figure, I’m a big fan of snacks and will take them from your hand. If you’d like to make friends with me, that’s a good place to start. I also love toys! And, if you spend some time just sitting quietly in my pen with me, I’ll come around after a while. It takes patience and I know it’s hard not to try to just scoop me into your arms and cuddle me, but… listen. Neither of us would be very happy if you did that. At least, not yet. A lot of the time, after a cat gets comfortable in a home where they feel safe, they blossom and start to show just how affectionate, playful, and sweet they can be!  And sometimes, at least for a while, shy cats like me will just be your quiet, low-maintenance roommates. I’m no trouble at all. I get along well with other cats and, as long as I have access to snacks and a little peace and quiet, I’m a happy girl.  So… nobody has chosen me yet, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t someone out there for me! Anyone who has loved a shy cat will tell you how rewarding it is. If you don’t have space for a cat like me, spread the word! Help me find my angel, even if they’re one in a million.
