Kesha – Ready for Adoption!

I’m not dreaming of a white Christmas. I’ve had enough of the white stuff. It’s a different kind of Christmas I’m dreaming of. No, I want a warm Christmas. A Christmas with a soft bed and a full belly and maybe even my own Christmas jammies.  See, last Christmas, I didn’t have any of those things. I was left tied to the shelter fence on Christmas day. As soon as I saw another human (a customer in the parking lot), I pulled loose and ran straight to him, then followed him to the office. Everyone seemed really concerned, especially because I was dangerously underweight. You could see all my bones and I was so hungry I was hunched over.  That was a bad day, but also a good day. It was the day my life changed. Suddenly, I was safe and warm. I even got a sweater! I discovered that I really loved curling up and cuddling in someone’s lap. I had to go through the slow process of refeeding (they said it’s dangerous to feed a starving dog too much at first), but now, I always have enough food.  I’ve heard rumors that life can get even better than this! I’m only about a year old, so I suppose I still have plenty to learn about the world! They tell me that, one day, I’ll find my very own family. In fact, since I’m so sweet and cuddly and only about 40 lb at my ideal weight, my friends here say I probably won’t have to wait too long! I might get to find out about things like “hiking” and “puppucinos.” I might get to have siblings- another dog, perhaps? I came in with another dog, so I think I’d be fine with that. I haven’t had an official cat test yet, but didn’t seem to have any trouble with the cats in the office when I first arrived. That’s not definitive (I would have a proper cat test before going home with cats), but it’s a good sign. And, if I’m lucky, my family will love me and care for me for many years, until I’m a very old dog.
So let’s make this the year I get to find out all about how wonderful life can be for a dog who is loved! I can’t wait.
My name is Kesha, I’m a year old, and I’m spayed, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
