Jonesy – Ready for Adoption!
Sometimes, we seniors can start to feel like society has forgotten about us. I’m Jonesy and I’m 13 years old, so some might think my best days are behind me. I have to say, I disagree. Imagine if they’d said that to Sir Ian McKellan, Betty White, or Morgan Freeman. Yep. That’s me: a four-legged national treasure. For some of us, life begins at 13. That’s not to say I didn’t have a life. I did. I got to know and love other cats, dogs, and little children, and did well with all of them. I’m a classic introvert: I love my friends and social time, but then I need some alone time or just-family time to recover. I currently live in the bustling cat metropolis known as Kitty City, which, as you might imagine, can sometimes be a little overwhelming. I love hanging out in the kitchen with the volunteers and staff and soaking up the attention. I’m a super affectionate boy! When I’m not in the kitchen, you can often find me in my bed. And, when I say I’m in my bed, I mean I’m IN my bed- I like to burrow under the blankets! I’m fully certified in the art of coziness. I’d be a great fit for all sorts of different homes. There’s got to be someone out there who thinks I’m exactly the kind of cat they want! While I don’t have an age preference for my human, there is a bonus if you’re a senior like me: if someone over 65 adopts me, the adoption fee is $1 and routine vet care for the rest of my life is covered at the shelter at no cost to the adopter. So if you believe age is nothing but a number, come check me out!
