My name is Batuga and I’m all about POSITIVITY! I wake up every morning and think about what a great day it’s going to be. Lots of friends. My cat roommate. Good food. And maybe- just maybe- today will be the day I get chosen! Think positively, see? And good things will come to you. Like sometimes, I get visitors and they pick me up and cuddle me! I love that. Or sometimes, they bring a toy and play with me. Amazing. And sometimes, they just hang out and I get to enjoy their company. Fantastic. My attitude isn’t the only thing about me that’s positive. I’m positive for feline leukemia (or FeLV). Don’t worry- I’m healthy and I don’t need any daily medication or special care. Yes, there are a few considerations: if I get sick (like a cold or an infection), it can be harder on me than on an FeLV negative cat. Luckily, I’m covered by Open Door’s FeLeuk program for the rest of my life, so you can bring me to the shelter to see the vet for anything FeLeuk related for no charge! I can’t pass FeLV to humans or dogs or any other species, but I can pass it to other cats. So, even though I get along well with other cats, I should either be a one-and-only or live in a FeLeuk family! I’ll put a link with more info at the end of the post. So if there’s one thing I’m really positive about, it’s that there’s someone out there for me! I know I’ll find a human who just wants a big, adorable, snuggly, playful, outgoing, gentle, absolutely perfect cat… and won’t let my FeLV status stand in the way!
My name is Batuga, I’m three years old, and I’m neutered, up to date on shots, and fully vetted. I’m available for adoption through for an adoption fee of just $1.
