Cersei – Ready For Adoption!
When you see a piece of art in a museum, everyone knows the rule is “look, don’t touch,” right? A thing of beauty like Klimt’s The Kiss or Monet’s Water Lilies doesn’t need to be groped to be appreciated, right? If you want to touch it, well… you should take it home, right? Unfortunately, if you don’t have disgusting amounts of money, buying those masterpieces is probably not an option for you. But this masterpiece? This one right here? This thing of beauty in front of you? Seventy-five bucks and I’m yours. My name is Cersei and I belong in your living room. Okay, I put on a good show, but here’s the reality of it: I’m just scared. I’ve been here in the shelter for six months now (and I’m only three years old, so that’s a good chunk of my life) and… this environment really doesn’t suit me. It’s busy, noisy, bright, and overwhelming. I rarely just get a chance to hang out with people who aren’t running around working or trying to get in my space. I’m lonely… and I don’t trust strangers. I do trust other cats. In fact, I would love to live with other cats. I’ve lived with dogs before without a problem, so I would also be fine with that! As far as people, here’s what I need: someone who isn’t going to expect me to respond to them in the shelter. I’m telling you now: asking me to perform well in the shelter is like asking me to breathe underwater. I can’t. It doesn’t mean I can’t breathe at all, ever. Just… not here. My previous owner said I loved attention and liked to be petted and brushed. In a quiet home, I know I could blossom!
So if you’re the kind of person who believes in giving a cat like me a chance, who can be patient with me while I get adjusted, and who is willing to give me some space to grow… I might just be the cat for you! My name is Cersei, I’m about three years old, and I’m spayed, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
