We want to make our community aware of a concerning scam. Someone is calling individuals, claiming to be from Open Door Animal Sanctuary, stating that we have their lost pet and asking for money in exchange for its return. These calls are not from us.
Unfortunately, these scammers are using our main phone number to make these calls (but not physically at our shelter) which makes them appear legitimate. Please know that Open Door Animal Sanctuary would NEVER ask for money to return a lost animal.
If you receive a call like this, do not provide any money or personal information. We are actively investigating this issue.
