I don’t know about you, but I think we could all use a little more softness in the world. Life is so full of sharp edges, bright lights, ticking clocks… wouldn’t it be nice to just slow down for a moment and enjoy a little peace?

My name is Sophie and I’ll be your little oasis of sweetness in this harsh and harried world. When you feel overwhelmed by the madness of everyday life, just sit and cuddle me and let it melt away. I’m a gentle, tranquil girl who loves to just sit in the middle of everything and watch the world go by.

Cuddle me, stroke me, hold me… I love any kind of attention. My outgoing nature has won me lots of friends and admirers- both human and feline. I get along well with other cats of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. I’ve never lived with or met a dog, so I’m not sure what I would think of them.

Overall, I’m the perfect cat.  Well.  Almost.

I do have one quirk that has stood in the way of adoption. I use the lavatory politely and reliably for #1, but for #2, I prefer to go on the floor nearby. My lovely friends in the shelter have mostly ruled out physical causes for this particular habit, so they think it’s likely stress-related. It may be a problem that magically resolves once I settle into a home, but I also need you to understand that it may not. It might take some creativity (things like having different types of litter or litter boxes available in different locations). Or I might just always be the kind of cat who drops the kids off somewhere vaguely in the neighborhood of the pool no matter what you do.  Apart from that one rather embarrassing detail, I’m a perfect lady. I’m about five years old and just so sweet and lovely. I hope someone will give me a chance!
