Around here, they’re always telling me I need to come out of the closet. “Come out, Odette. Come out of the closet. You’ll be happier. You’ll be loved and accepted, we promise.”
So, here goes… Future mom. Future dad. Future extended family members… I have something to tell you.
I’m…. FLUFFY!
I didn’t ask to be born this way, but I’m proud of who I am! And being fluffy might make me a little extra fabulous, but it doesn’t change anything. I’m still the same super-affectionate, friendly, mellow, sweet girl I’ve always been. I’m still great with other cats and dogs. I’m still chatty, with an easy purr and a lot of love to give.
I hope you’ll respect that I still find some safety in the closet. It’s not that I’m shy, but I do like a little privacy. And I like to keep a little bit of mystery about myself. So, when you come to visit me, you might not even see me at first… because I might be napping in the supply closet. And, in my new home, I’d love to have a quiet, out-of-the-way spot to chill from time to time.
Whew. What a relief to finally have it out there. And you’re right- putting my authentic self out there in the world really is the only way to truly find my family! Thank you for loving me for who I am- fluff and all!
