Felix – Ready for Adoption!

My name is Felix and my favorite thing about the Christmas season isn’t the decorations or the gifts or the carols or the food. It’s that sometimes, even when you’re grown, you can believe that anything is possible at Christmas. Miracles, even.
Like… it could be the time of year when, amidst all the people looking for their shiny Christmas puppies and kittens, there might be that one special person who wants something different: the oldest cat in the shelter.
Listen, a guy can dream, right? I may be a skinny old man- declawed, pushing 15 years old, and on daily thyroid meds- but I still think there’s someone out there for me!
Maybe it would be someone who, just like me, feels kind of forgotten and alone. What a dream that would be, for both of us! It’s hard to feel lonely when you have an affectionate, sweet boy like me in your face, demanding attention.
Maybe it’ll be someone with a bustling household overflowing with love and activity! How great would that be? I’m a social butterfly, so I certainly wouldn’t mind entertaining company and having many hands available to pet me.
It could be someone with other pets. I do just fine with other cats and, while I have yet to meet a dog, it’s never too late to learn something new! I’m pretty people-oriented, though, so I certainly wouldn’t mind getting to see what it’s like to be the one and only furry prince of the household.
Maybe it will be another senior, just like me! Since I’m an older chap, I’m eligible for the seniors-4-seniors program. That means that if someone over age 65 adopts me, my adoption fee would be just $1 and routine vet care for the rest of my life would be covered at the shelter at no cost to my person. That includes my thyroid meds, which aren’t expensive anyway, but you can’t beat free!
Whatever kind of person might come for me, one thing is for sure: if they’re the type of person who would give the oldest cat in the shelter a home for Christmas, they MUST be amazing!
So maybe, if I believe extra-hard, I’ll get my miracle. And I have a feeling it might look a lot like you!
My name is Felix, I’m almost fifteen years old, and I’m neutered, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
