Etana – Ready for Adoption!
How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice! But there’s a little more to it than that, right? My name is Etana and I believe in the power of practice, but also… we all know there are some people and dogs who are lucky enough to be born with some natural talent. They just have the right temperament to succeed and they love the thing they’re doing. That’s what gives someone the potential to really be great. And that’s what I’ve got. I’m practically overflowing with raw potential! But it’s not a musician or an artist I want to be. I’m not looking to be a fighter pilot. No, my dream is to be a pet. A best friend. A playmate. A cuddle buddy. Can’t you picture it? Me- Etana- living that “beloved” life. And I know I’ve got what it takes. I love to play! Have you ever had someone throw a toy for you? It’s pure joy! It makes me so happy I’ll pounce on the toy like a fox in the snow. Stuffed animals are my favorite, but I’m not picky. The only thing better than getting to play with toys? Cuddle time. I’m a little unsure at first and may tense up or shy away at sudden moves, but once I realize I’m in safe company, my tail starts wagging, I fire up my kisser, and your lap starts to look like my home base. I’m super loving and very gentle, even when I’m not quite comfortable with you yet. I’m about a year old and was picked up as a pregnant stray, along with two other dogs, so not much is known about my past, but it seems pretty clear that I don’t have a lot of formal education in the “being a dog” department. It’s a learning experience, to be sure, and I’m loving every minute of it! I’m intelligent, well-mannered, and eager to please, all of which makes me a promising student. I just need some practice, coaching, and a little bit of patience while I build those skills and learn to be loved. I have to confess, while I’m an amazing, brilliant dog, I do have one bad habit: if I’m left alone in a yard, I’ve been known to scale pretty tall fences and take myself for walks. I don’t do it if someone is with me and I’m good on a leash, so I’ve still got safe options for exercise and potty breaks, but… you’ve gotta come with me. So help me make my big dreams come true! I’ve got the talent and I’ve got the heart. I just need the opportunity. My name is Etana, I’m a year old and 45 lb, and I’m spayed, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
