Deuce – Ready for Adoption!

It should be, like, a law of the universe that if you’re a very good boy, you’ll have a very good home. Right?
My name is Deuce and I’m certainly doing my part. I’m a very good, very sweet dog who just wants to be loved. Now, it’s time for the universe to catch up!
I’m nine years old and I’ve been loved all my life. It was my dad’s hospice nurse who called the shelter for me when he passed away. We were both loyal to the end.
I’m well-mannered, very sweet, and I love everyone I meet. I’ve lived with cats and done well with them and my extended family members report that I’m also good with dogs, although I haven’t lived with them before. I’m generally easygoing, although I do sometimes cry when I get lonely. Really, all I want is to have my ears scratched and have somebody to hang out with.
I love going for walks and car rides, I’m housebroken, and I have good manners. I don’t destroy things or make trouble when I’m unsupervised or left alone. I’m an excellent best friend and co-pilot!
I’m even good for baths! I’m sweet and cooperative, which is good because I have some allergies and, when I came in, I was missing most of my hair. I’m doing very well with my current regimen: a salmon-based food, medicated baths, and daily medication. I take it like a champ, but I do have to stay on it in order to keep on being the glossy, handsome guy you see before you.
Since I’m nine years old, I’m eligible for the Seniors-4-Seniors program! That means that anyone can adopt me, of course. I’d make a marvelous companion for anyone of any age. But if somebody over 65 years old adopts me, my adoption fee is $1 and routine vet care (including my medication) is covered by the shelter for the rest of my life.
So if you’re waiting for the universe to bring you something good, I think I might just be that something!
My name is Deuce, I’m nine years old, and I’m neutered, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
