Bagheera – Ready for Adoption!
Friends. It’s Giving Tuesday Eve. What better way to celebrate than by introducing you to my favorite cat in the shelter? This is Bagheera. My love. My girl. My spherical angel.
I mean, LOOK AT HER. That face. Those eyes. The little tongue blep. Oh my stars, isn’t she the cutest?
She’s fat. She’s middle-aged (9 and a half). She’s chatty. And she’s absolutely and completely brilliant.
Now, if you know me, you know that I like my cats with some spice. All-sugar cats are great and all, but… everyone wants those. They’re nowhere near as interesting to hang out with as cats who have plenty of their own opinions. Plus, a cat who just loves everyone all the time is kind of like having ChatGPT for a girlfriend, vs. having a relationship with a real human woman whose opinion of you actually means something. When you form a bond with Bagheera, it’s special.
She is a very loving and affectionate girl. She’s all about the headbutts and cheek rubs. And, outside of the shelter, I think she’d be even more affectionate generally mellower. She’s had two homes. Her first people moved and her second person passed away, so she’s lost both through no fault of her own and we were always told she was lovely in a home. In the shelter, she will let you know when she’s had enough attention- politely, at first. But if you ignore her “you’re dismissed, thank you ever so much,” she will move on to “I SAID GOOD DAY.” It’s no big deal. Just don’t take it personally, walk away, and come back later.
The other thing is, Bagheera is fine with dogs, but absolutely hates other cats. So, naturally, the adult cat section of an animal shelter is not exactly her happy place. It’s not where she’s going to be at her best or show her sweetest self. The plus side of that is that she gets to be a karma cat: only someone awesome, compassionate, and understanding would choose her and the type of person who chooses her is the type of person who deserves a phenomenal cat like her. The minus side is that she needs to be the only cat in the home.
So if you’re the type of person who celebrates a mighty girl with a mind of her own, you might be the one who can give Bagheera what she needs! Make her day (and mine) (and, also, if you love her, you and I should probably be friends)- come check her out!
Her name is Bagheera, she’s nine years old, and she’s spayed, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
