Kermit – Ready for Adoption!

Hi ho! Kermit the dog here! Just hopping by to talk to you about dog adoption!  See, I am of the canine persuasion and, what’s more, I am currently dispossessed of a family myself, so I’m very passionate about this issue.  Did you know that dogs who are in shelters are very good dogs? Some people think we lost our homes because we misbehaved, but that’s usually not the case! Like, in my case, I just got lost! I couldn’t find my way home and my people didn’t come looking for me, so I came here because it’s a safe place for dogs.  I was pretty scared when I first came here, but then I made some good human friends. I’m still a little bit cautious in unfamiliar situations and around new people, but I always feel braver when I’ve got a friend with me!
Another cool fact about rescue dogs is that a lot of us are really smart! I know how to sit, shake, and give high fives. My friends say I’m an old soul- my estimated age is about two years, but I seem to be wise beyond my years.  Rescue dogs are all individuals with individual preferences. Like, I seem to really like puppies! But I’m less sure about adult dogs and would like the chance to meet any potential dog siblings before deciding whether I’d like to live with them for good.  The best thing about rescue dogs is that they have SO MUCH love to give. Once I get comfortable with someone, I’m a total snuggler. I love having my little face scratched.  I can’t wait to turn in my “shelter dog” badge and exchange it for a “beloved family dog” one. The biggest thing I want to teach you about shelter dogs is that they (and by that, I’m specifically referring to myself) could be the best friend you’ll ever have!
