Sheila – Ready for Adoption!

Sometimes, I feel like I’m two Sheilas.  No, not like Jekyll and Hyde. Neither Sheila is a dangerous criminal. We’re both sweet, 1-year-old, medium-sized dogs with soft hearts who just want love. We’re both known for our charming habit of “smiling” when we’re in unfamiliar situations. And we’re both in need of a family. But there’s a hidden Sheila. A VIP-level Sheila. A wiggly, bouncy, happy, super-snuggly girl who loves sunshine, kisses, and sparkles. Sheila gets animated around puppies, loves toys, and just wants to be in your lap. That’s the Sheila my friends know and love.  It’s not always the same Sheila that new people get to meet. That’s the Sheila who has been abandoned and betrayed by humans and knows that not every random stranger can be trusted. I’m a brave girl with a lot of love to give, but I need time and patience.  The thing is, yes, you’re a stranger when you walk in. And I might not come to you or want you to pet me. And you might say “she doesn’t seem like she likes me” or “she doesn’t seem very friendly” and never actually take the time to get to know me. But I know that, one day, I’ll meet someone willing to give me the time I need. And we might spend a few days as strangers, slowly learning to trust each other, but a few days is nothing compared to the lifetime we’ll spend as family.  So come and give me a chance! I’m worth it.  My name is Sheila, I’m a year old, and I’m spayed, up to date on shots, and fully vetted.
